Sitting at the Spiller Park cafe in Atlanta on this fine sunny day, soaking up the cold weather while I can. (Cold - in the 19s C, 60s F.)

It’s the day after Jimmy Carter passed away at age 100, our last president who was also a deeply good man. A friend of mine discussed working with him for Habitat for Humanity when Carter was 93 — he was still moving and using the saw for cutting wood and building, and showed up every morning to lead a prayer for the day at breakfast.

I had an odd experience — driving into Georgia yesterday before I’d heard about Carter’s death, I said to my husband, “Whichever Democrat officiates his impending funeral better be a firebrand and tie our party together.” Then I checked the internet 30 minutes later and said, “CRAP i hope my words didn’t will this to happen, somehow!”

Fandom matters: I hope to spend the rest of vacation writing, once I get back home! I have a few ideas, and want to get work done on my WIPs.

Also I can’t wait for reposting my Yuletide fic — I got good comments on it from authors I’ve followed for a while, and am excited to reply to them. :D
